Contacts

The constant on and off of reading glasses has gotten old so I decided to give contacts a try and started with monovision.    First, I tried a mild prescription.  For anyone unfamiliar with this process, monovision means a contact in one eye.  And since my right eye has about 20/60 distance vision, that was the eye that got the contact.  My left eye has perfect distance vision so over time, my right eye is supposed to adapt to reading and my left eye to distance.  And it has….somewhat.  But I don’t really like it.  I always feel like I’m not seeing anything very well.

So today it’s back to the drawing board.  I know several people who love their multifocal contact lenses so I’m going to give those a try.  I have also been reading about corneal reshaping at All About Vision and am now intrigued by that as well.  With a bit of research through “Dr. Google”, it appears that corneal reshaping with corneal refractive therapy or CRT does work in some cases of Presbyopia.  Would love to hear from anyone who’s had success with this.
